Most would think that clients should begin on the floor and progress to studio machines when in fact the natural progression for clients should be to go from the Studio machines to the floor. The reason for this is that studio machines are predominately closed chain and give feedback to the body so that it can learn proprioception (the ability to know where your body is in space at any one time). From studio machines you would now naturally progress to the floor where it is predominately open chain.

If you are intending to conduct Pilates sessions in a formal environment using Pilates machines, then this course is what you are looking for as the Reformer is one of the most versatile pieces of equipment in your Pilates Studio. You will learn 30 Beginner Reformer exercises that Joe himself taught on his invention. We will break them down so that you have a thorough understanding in the mechanical procedures to create each of the movements using Joe’s unique method and style. We use a contemporary focus on our training and apply all current and relevant studies of anatomical movement , however we go out of our way to ensure that the traditional method of Joseph's work is not corrupted. We will break the exercises down in order to understand their unique application properties. We will teach each other on the exercises and discuss the individuality of each of the movements with your clients. You will learn our world class instructional style. We will show you a step by step process on how to develop the words that are required for you to explain in detail but with simplicity on what it is you want the client to do. We pride ourselves on our delivery method as it is often the main reason people continue to return to our instructors. People often compare our method with others and realise that our method is far superior. This will be done again and again until you feel comfortable in the delivery method and are able to leave us confident in the knowledge that you will be able to deliver a Pilates Reformer session at the highest level of quality.
